Recently for my project studies I have been comparing on discrete element models .i.e,. beam, shell and volume elements its resistance comparing to the elastic critical load Ncr.
When I did the comparison, the element models gave the same resistance value in the non linear buckling analysis for both materials of Structural steel Linear material and Structural Steel Nonlinear material in the ANSYS analysis.
[i.e., for beam element with and without the material nonlinearity it gave the same resistance value and the for shell element it also showed the same resistance value with and without material nonlinearity and the same as for volume element]
Will this happen to be the same and I could not understand why it is so like that!!!
Please help me with some explanations!!!
