Hello Everyone,

I am trying to run a transient EMAG simulation on a HPC remotely using SSH. I was able to transfer files over to the compute node on the HPC and start the simulation. At the end, I got only a single output file that looks like the text below.

### Warning: Unable to determine Red Hat Enterprise Linux version number.

- SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 64-bit: Version 11

If anyone has run a simulation on ANSYS Maxwell from command line or on HPC , could you provide any insight ? or may be point to some resources where I can read ? the ANSYS Maxwell v15 and v16 guide only say that HPC can be used to run simulation but does not discuss how ? I can provide the scripts I have written to run the simulation if that might be useful to the group to decipher what is going on with this case.

Thanks everyone !

I should have posted this in the original message. This is the script I am using to run remotely.

#!/bin/bash

#

#SBATCH -J EMAG # replace jobname with name
#SBATCH -N 1 #number of Nodes requested
#SBATCH -n 16 #number of cores (each node has 16 cores)

#SBATCH -p serial # replace queue_name with queue

#SBATCH -o output.%j # replace job_output_name with name

#SBATCH -t 00:10:00 # runtime (hh:mm:ss)

#SBATCH -A Fluid-and-electromag
#SBATCH --mail-user=xxxxxxxxxxx
#SBATCH --mail-type=begin #email me when the job starts
#SBATCH --mail-type=end #email me when the job ends
#SBATCH --mail-type=fail #email me when the job fails

#---- end of options to batch -------

#
# submit with sbatch sbatch.sh

scontrol show hostname $SLURM_NODELIST | awk '{for(i=0;i<16;i++) print $0}' > hostlist.$SLURM_JOB_ID

maxwell 3ddp -g -t$SLURM_NTASKS -pinfiniband -mpirun="ibrun" -ssh -cnf=hostlist.$SLURM_JOB_ID -i TACC_Trial.mxwl

I only supplied TACC_Trial.mxwl file to run and probably did not specify what ouputs I wanted ?? I know that you need to provide a journal file and a cas file to run on HPC when you are running Fluent. the journal file has all the details about what output is needed.

Thanks
