Hi,

I need to fill the array with selected node numbers. Below apdl code is working but I would like to do, without these loops. Please suggest.

Tot_nodes = ndinqr(0,14)
sel_nodes = ndinqr(0,13)
*dim,total,array,Tot_nodes
*dim,select,array,sel_nodes
*vget,total(1),node,1,nsel
T=1
*Do,I,1,Tot_nodes
*IF,total(I),EQ,1,THEN
select(T)= I
T = T + 1
*ENDIF
*ENDDO

This is what I would do in case I wanted to get a list of node numbers in my selection. Assume that you want to select all the nodes in a nodal selection Nodal1.

!Selecting all components of named selection Nodal1
cmsel, s, Nodal1, NODE

!Check to see how many total nodes are selected based on previous selection criteria
*get, my_nodecount, node,0,count

!Defining an array with number of row vectors as the number of nodes selected.
*Dim,AA,array,my_nodecount,1

!Getting the list of nodes into array AA
*vget,AA, node,,nlist

Tested and it works.

Martin: I was able to login after a pw reset; however, I do not see any recent posts from today on the forum.

Not certain about this - so, I logged out and then logged back in again, and still do not see any recent posts.

Please advise.

Have you read http://www.xansys.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26722
There is no linkage between the temporary mailing list and the Forum. In my view the only useful purpose of the Forum at the moment is to search for old posts on topics of interest. We hope to have a proper solution before too long but the amount of effort I am having to make because these days nobody appears to bother to read anything is putting the date back.
