Hi, this is my first post in this forum so let me know if I am doing anything wrong!

I need to map pressure loads from a Fluent analysis to a structural model in APDL. I will be doing this many times using a script input. Each time the mesh in the APDL model is different, so I need an automated method to do this.

I notice that ANSYS 15 (this is the version I am using) has a new mapping processor which looks like it should do just what I want. But I can't get it to work. I have used the esurf command to generate surface elements on the relevant areas of my model and select the associated nodes:
Code:
asel, s, area, , 1, 138
esla
et,2,154
type,2
keyopt,2,11,2
esurf
esel, s, type, , 2
nsle, s, all

Then in the mapping processor I have tried to set the target nodes:
Code:
/map
target, all

But I always get an error telling me that "no nodes, or an insufficient number of nodes, are selected." There are thousands of nodes selected, so I'm not sure what's causing the error. I also tried the same process with a simple circle area instead of my complex 3D surfaces, but I got the same error.

I know that there are a few mapping macros around that I could use instead, and I will try that if I can't get this working, but I just thought I would see if anyone here has used the mapping processor (successfully or unsuccessfully).

Thanks.
