Hi all,

I have a table with nodal position (Z) in the first column, and nodal displacements (X,Y,Z) in the second column.

I want to sort the first column (Z position) in ascending order, and have the remaining 3 columns (X,Y,Z displacements) sort with it.

how can i achieve this? the ANSYS *Moper command and *VFUN command are somehow too convoluted for me to understand.

Thanks alot!

Dear Mr. Richardson:

in the ansys help, Mechanical APDL, 3.10.7.2. Matrix Operations
(help/ans_apdl/Hlp_P_APDL3_11.html) you can find a simple example on
using *moper to sort a small (5x3) array in ascending order of the first
row, just what you need. It also shows how to sort it back to its
original order, for which you need to create a vector storing the
original order.

Alternatively, you could use *mwrite to write the table to a text file,
read it in excel and sort it there.
