Hello;

I am trying to resume a finished transient electromagnetic analysis using the "RESUME" command in a batch file. The run immediately stops giving me this error message:

" *** FATAL *** CP= 0.480 TIME= 11:37:03
Cannot extend a previous version result file. "

I have not been able to find the cause for this. I don't have a previous version installed. The database files are present and working. The resume command works in the GUI but not from the batch mode.

The version is Ansys 8.0 under a university research license, used in a linux machine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you;

Josť

Josť,

I have been through this error. In my case, I was able to restart the
analysis with a little modification in the input file. However, I don't know
the exact reason of the error. The error is not related with RESUME command.
According to me, it is related with the result file. The error message
regarding version difference is misleading. I additionally used '/CONFIG'
command to specify maximum number of results sets allowed on the result
file. After this modification, I never faced this error again.

Hi Balasaheb;

Thank you, your suggestion fixed the problem. In my case I had to set the
number of result sets to 1,000,000. Smaller numbers did not work.

Cheers;

Josť
